Police-Youth Advisory Council- November 20, 2018

The OPP is looking for Grade 9-12 representation from Huron County schools on the Police-Youth Advisory Council.

Representatives will:

  • Advise the police of student concerns
  • Get exposure to various aspects of policing
  • Develop creative strategies related to community issues
  • Receive training on leadership
  • Develop their resume
  • Accommodate volunteer hours

The Huron OPP Police-Youth Advisory Council (YAC) 2018/2019 year will host their next meeting on November 20th at 6:00pm at the Clinton Fire Hall. New members are welcome to attend. OPP K9 handler PC Harness will be putting on a demonstration. The council is co-chaired by a member from the Huron OPP Detachment and a student representative.  Meetings are held monthly throughout the school year, with a one year commitment expected from members.
